Hello.
I am a new user of Firebird, and love it to bits. After a bit of trial
and error I have imported an Access 97 database, and set up two users
with Access 97 as front ends. They are used to it, and don't like
change. However, I want to use Firebird with Open Office 2 but it
doesn't work on auto increment fields, whatever I've tried. So my
questions are:
1) Is there a command I can give Firebird, from Open Office, to pick up
the auto increment values of different tables?
2) Is anybody from Firebird development talking to the Open Office
developers about getting the two to talk to each other properly? The
only reference I can find on the Open Office site suggests THEY think
it's a problem with the ODBC driver. I can't see this as accurate if
Access 97 works correctly. So far my pleas have fallen on deaf ears in
the Open Office forums.
If the two could co-exist, they would be a VERY powerful pair.
Thanks for your time, and I hope I haven't strayed off topic in any way.
