Take one table - just as a example - I have 60.000.000 records in my
biggest table - and this is the data from 1/2 a year :-)

If you are concerend about reports from the last years - the best way is
to store the data in one table, and then aggregate the table on a
monthly base into a different table.

The anual report gets generated from the aggregated data and the
detailed report for the month from the "original" table.
