Well, that's not an unusual scenario, but can you then explain why you
can't use bind variables ? Making it up all from literals is the least
effective way to do an update in this situation.

Then why you don't use google to look up your answers? You have probably
confused this list for a free, faceless, on-line reference guide, don't
you? If you ask people a question, then people would answer in their
all-colorful human way. Deal with it.

Firebird developers are reasonable people that improve and add new
functionality in Firebird all the time, but not at random. If you have
feature request, just go and log it into feature request tracker at
project's website. Developers then decide whether and when to implement
it. If you don't like such uncertainty, then you can speed up things by
your money.

But don't be disappointed if your feature request would be rejected. Not
all requests are considered as reasonable and worthy. For example: Just
because someone wants to ride a broom, doesn't mean that brooms should
have wings.

Your statements would have some value when you would have a name and
even more value when you would paid even a penny for all what you got.
You know, opinions of demanding anonymous free riders have the lowest
possible value.
