Hi Thomas,

i did what you said installed totaly new, had a look on the documentation link - and know what? It doesn't work!

i am getting always the same error message that database is unavailable. this really sucks!
can it be that because today is monday, this thing won't work!? ;-)

I have checked all permissions SYSTEM and ADMIN, everything fine. Went step-by-step through the installation process over and over again. Had a look at the local firewall (it is inactive - because of external firewall, so it should be fine!). I tried several types of gsec comands, with no success! My last try was: gsec -user SYSDBA -database "C:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_1_5\security.fdb" -password masterkey;

Error onthis: Same as always!

Once again, when i copy the security.fdb and security.ftk to c:\ and then am trying
gsec -user SYSDBA -database "C:\security.fdb" -password masterkey;
it is functioning! how strange is that?

well for today i am giving up, no more nerves on that, perhaps has anybody else the same problem or had it!?
