You are correct in this assumption.
We haven't went into production with FB 1.5.2 yet, but our testing has shown
us that regardless of it's mutlti-version architecture, this database is
horrible in speed and concurrency when compared to it's "page locking"
competitors.

FB2 is much, much better. Dimitry and crew have done a great job with it.
It still has some problems, but it's a move in the right direction.

If it is at all possible, wait until FB2, because I don't think they care
about improving FB 1.5.2 for it's users that are currently suffering.

I hope they will prove me wrong VERY, VERY, SOON, but at this point I
"think" we are going to move to PostgresSQL, it has shown some promising
results.
