Subject RE: [firebird-support] Connection authorization failure

Yes Martin I'm absolutely sure I'm not working on a backup... first they
sent me a backup file (.fbk) then I asked for the database and they sent me
1.3 Gb database (.fdb)

I tried to install firebird 1.0 on another machine and open the database
from there but same problem. I'm assuming the database they sent was created
on 1.0 because they had sent on the same DVD the Firebird 1.0 installer...

If it was corruption, what could be the cause? they are as we speak
operating on the database at their site, they have made a copy on a DVD and
sent it to me and yes I unchecked the read only property of the file after
copying it on my machine.

Firebird 1.5 should be able to open Firebird 1.0 databases.

It can be a corrupted database.

Are you sure you didn't get a backup which needs to be restored first?
