That looks promising thanks.
I will confirm it, but a File System rename should fail if someone is
connected. This would also be easier inside an installer script.

Renaming it should break the link from aliases.conf so new connections
will not be able to be made. I am only trying to protect users from
themselves during an upgrade :), so it doesn't have to be absolutely
bulletproof, just enough to catch the likely problems.
