It must be the C: drive - you cannot use mapped drives
\\jurinet:C:\Travail\Jurinet\FireBird\Jurimaitre.fdb
or is it
jurinet:C:\Travail\Jurinet\FireBird\Jurimaitre.fdb
or if you know the IP address
say 10.0.0.3:C:\Travail\Jurinet\FireBird\Jurimaitre.fdb
You are connecting the c: drive of 10.0.0.3.

Thanks,

Ok so I put that string: jurinet:G:Jurinet\FireBird\JURIMAITRE.FDB

But it is not working it says:
"Unable to complete network request to host "G".
Failed to locate host machine.
The specified name was not found in the hosts file or Domain Name
Services"

I don't think I am getting what the <drive> should be.

Here's my info:
The server name is: "Jurinet"
I have à Letter on my computer (G: ) that points on the server there:
C:\Travail
The direct Path on the server is:
C:\Travail\Jurinet\FireBird\Jurimaitre.fdb

Also:
I put masterkey just for the email, but it is not my password
And about the quoted identifier, in fact, I don't really know what it
means. But I develloped my program on my computer with a DNS having quoted
identfier and did not have any problem.

Hello,
BROWSING is not such a good idea in this case. It will deliver the
wrong string.

try the following connection:
<servername>:<drive>:<path>\jurimaitre.fdb

where <servername> must be the name of the server in your network,
<drive> must be the drive-letter relative to the server, NOT the
client, <path> must be also relative to the server.

If your server would have a name of "DBServer" and it would on it's
own hard-disks have a partition "D:" where is located your database in
the folder "Jurinet\FireBird\Jurimaitre.fdb", your connection string
would be:
"DBServer:D:\Jurinet\FireBird\Jurimaitre.fdb"

also consider the following:
- use the aliases-conf of the server. That way you would just need
"DBServer:Jurimaitre"
- change the SYSDBA-password as soon as possible
- think long and deep about really using quoted identifiers. This can
mean a lot of extra-work

ciao,
André
