I'll speak from experience and I am sure Ann will chip in as well. With Firebird
the incidence of corrupted databases that we see has fallen dramatically, the
bug fixes put into 1.0x, and 1.5 has reduced the amount of database repair business
we do at IBPhoenix quite dramatically. This is a good thing, we never wanted to
be in the database repair business :-)

The databases we do see are InterBase 6.0x database and previous, mainly due to
the 2GB file limit issue.

However there are always possibilities on windows due to the way the windows
file system handles it cache, where a database could become corrupt if the
server is suddenly terminated, although as much care as possible is put into
the firebird code to minimise this.

If there is evidence of database corruption, and it can be reproduced, and it
is caused by a bug. then it will get fixed as a high priority item.
