MDAC isn't required by FB. More than likely MDAC is being included
in your .NET application with or w/o your knowledge. At the MS web
site you can download 'MDAC component checker' that will identify
which version is installed on the machine. We develop with 2.7, and
one of the first steps in our install instructions is to verify the
version and update the server to 2.7 if its less.
