That's funny. I just got VS2003 and read up on the .net provider for
firebird. It can start and commit your transactions for you automatically.
I've have to do it explicitly because it would feel odd, after using
Firebird.

Now that you mention it, I haven't used another database for any project in
about a 2 years. I even eventually replaced a 3rd party embedded DB with FB
Embedded.

What a great product.
