try this "local" connection? If so, try the local connection
from a console session and see if that works. Remote Desktop
is essentially a mini-terminal-server and cannot use local
connections.
Otherwise. I cant remember now if I tested what happens with
"Fast User Switching" enabled. I have it turned off on my XP
install (it was causing problems with some other security
software that I was using). If you are using this feature
trying turning it off and see that makes any difference.
