How a server (the engine) will now if a client has a dll loaded ?

How the client will contact the server to ask for the information if it
don't have the client library installed and loaded ?

take a look on function GetModuleHandle of the win32 API, to see if it
is what you are after.

Maybe your middle-ware could have such funcionality wraped in a single
function, don't know about it.
