Subject Re: [firebird-support] How hard to convert to embedded?
Author Tim
I have written three sync procedures : one for Acess, one for old
Interbase, and one for Firebird. It's not difficult - what they do is pump
data across and put them in new data structures.

I have never had a request to sync these kinds of installations with larger
DB's, but in other applications I have written, with large data tables, I
just dump them out to text files and import the text files with the
external file procedures.

It's not fancy, or particularly sophisticated, but it works well. 70 000
records in 3 seconds. Under my old sync procedures, the same import took 2
hours.

Regards

Tim
