Will the *server* open a new port for events?
I thought it'd be the other way around, that the client
listens for connections, since Dixon said that, with new
interbase versions, the default would be the same port.
But well, perhaps events and database connections are
handled by the same listener.

Can you tell me more about this?
(I didn't even know that there's a second connection
for events).
