But then you don't need to care about anything! If DB file is
placed on external RAID, everything you must to do if server get
broken, is to connect it to backup one and boot it. Exactly the
scenario you described.
I heard that there are external RAIDs able to be connected to two
computers simultaneously, so it doesn't require even switching of
cables.
