There is a discussion about it on fb-devel some weeks ago.

Jim propose the use of what he call COTTERIES (not sure how to spell
it). The cotteries will be a set of username/ip address (ip range or
something like that). I argued if this is just the firewall work done
inside the DB engine.

He pointed out that you could for example limit SYSDBA only to your
internal lan, and let other users access from outside world.

After his argument, I accept it as a good thing :-)

Alex Peshkov said it will be easy to implement.
