If Firebird is running - never copy the database !!!
If Firebird has been stopped it can be copied, but a more compact result
will be obtained by running one of the backup methods.
The simplest approach is to use gbak in a batch file and call it as a
scheduled event, but there are also a number of third party tools which
will schedule a backup, and even copy the data to a second machine.

I have been running FIBS on a few sites, and apart from a problem where
there are multiple screens it does it's job.
