Thank you, Helen, for your suggestions.

I have 4 servers running Firebird 1.5.2:
1&2 are in my office on SuSe 9.2 -- working fine, the "apps" are two
Apache DSO's written recently in Kylix3.
3&4 are at a "production" site, running Fedora Core 4 -- both have the
same "unassigned code" problem. Both are running the same apps as
servers 1&2. The "unassigned code" errors come from both apps,
apparently when the first query is executed, after the connection was
successfully made.

1&2 do have a GUI (Konqueror) interface and report:
firebird.msg modified 2004-12-12 02:22
fb_inet_server modified 2004-12-12 02:22

I can't really tell about servers 3&4 but my best guess is that they
are "in sync".

Of interest is that server 3 WAS working last Wed (12/7) when I went
to bed. In the morning, it wasn't. What could cause things to
*suddenly* go wrong in this way?

I am at a complete loss as what to try next?

Completely reinstall FB?
