Author Raith, Daniel
You should really get a copy of the book: "The Firebird Book" by Helen
Borrie. Appendix IV has a nice section on database repair.

Use the -i switch to ignore the checksum errors.

Subject: [firebird-support] corrupted database

I am running a mail server using a firebird table, and it looks like my
400Mb database is corrupted. I am getting a checksum error on a
database page.

I'm a newbie at this, and I don't follow the documentation.

How do I run a repair utility? I want to run this on the server itself.
I have stopped the database, and made a copy, and wish to repair the
original.

I've seen syntax like this

gfix -user SYSDBA -password masterkey dbserver:/db/mydb.fdb -v -f

If my database resides at c:\firebird\mailserver.fdb, and I'm on
localhost, what is the syntax to access the table?

Thanks,

Graham
( can't receive email at present either I've shut the mail server down )
