Which "breed" of Firebird are you using (classic / superserver /
embedded), what OS are you using, and what installer are you using?

If it is a single user, windows application, I recommend using
embedded Firebird, then the process is simply to put certain files in
your applications folder, and you do not have to worry about
installing services etc.
