Not really a best usage for Firebird IMHO, but if you want...

AFAIK, Radius is used for authentication, so it should mostly be a read-only
activity. They shouldn't increase size much, unless you have a lot of users to
authenticate or you're using logging function too.

Things to check:
- You should make sure transactions get committed properly
- Your tables have indices on fields used for auth (eg. username)

BTW, what is Linux 9.0 ? I know of 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6 series. You probably meant a
version of distribution. So which is it? SuSE, Mandrake, RH, Slackware?
