Subject Re: [firebird-support] DB-file size exploding on working with blobs
Author Claus Heeg
Dear Werner,
I am using BLOB storing tif files and in my case the database size is
not growing although we also update
from time to time a record containing blobs / 2MB-4 MB each.
I did not rebuild the database by gbak / restore for over a year but
the size of the databases was around 1,8 GB and stayed more or less
constant. ( we splitted them into several databases);

I wd not be afraid of the increasing size - and a gfix will NEVER shrnk
the physical size but do a housekeeping and reuse of pages...

If you want more info - contact me privately heeg.c@...
