I managed to get IBDataPump to work inside the VM. The problem was that
I was missing a library (gds32.dll) but the application just crashed
without displaying an error message. I found this out by borrowing a
friend's laptop which runs Win98 and under Win98 the error message
clearly told me that it did not find the library. For some reason Win2K
does not display this error.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for your help, and if I get some free time on
my hands, maybe I will try to write something similar to IBDataPump that
runs under Linux. Maybe it will be best to write it in Java so it runs
every where...
