Have you ensured that all users (including IIS/ODBC and admin people) use
the very same version of the client library (system directories as well as
app directories) and so also use the identical connection string when they
do not use aliases? Does the alias resolve to the same connection string
used by the none alias users?
Not sure what Helen means by dialect differences since a db dialect is the
end of the road... as far as connections are concerned.
