We tested Firebird 1.5.1 Superserver with a table
holding 18 Million records.
The data was pumped in from a MySql database.
Firebird was faster than MySql on the same machine
on average by 5-10% for our select statements which
where set to return between 20-5000 rows.
Your performance may very depending on available memory.
