Are you going to process binary data containing null characters ?
You can use CHAR/VARCHAR types to pass string data into UDF
(even null characters will be handled correctly),
however returning string data from UDF using both CHAR and VARCHAR
is completely broken.

hi,
i am using delphi7 ent. and firebird 1.5.1.4481
i have a field defiend with varchar(50),
i must write an udf and it must returns the string wihout spaces
the return type must be varchar and there musn't any space end off the return field
input parameter and out parameter must be varchar not cstring
how can i do this with delphi and firebird
