OK, thanks for your replies. The server will arrive in one or two
weeks, I will post my results after testing the different
configurations. In the meanwhile I will optimise my queries (some of
them are real performance killers ;))

By the way, do you know some optimization papers for firebird?
Currently I'm using Craig Stuntz's papers from the 2003 Borland
Convention, which he wrote for Interbase.
