Firebird 1.5 and 1.5.1 support 64-bit file i/o on file systems like NTFS that support that. Win2K and later are fine, provided you have formatted the drive as NTFS and not FAT-32. Under Win 95, 98, and ME IIRC you have a 2GB file size limit imposed by FAT-32. I'm not sure about NT4.
