We re-installed FB 1.5.1 (rpm) tonight on our production server (slackware/linux.) This week Paul
was kind enough to go installing FB 1.5 client libraries on all our desktop machines (windows,)
including our citrix metaframe server. This time there have been no reported problems with the
first connection to the server hanging it / causing high-cpu usage. We tried with two dozen
clients, most of them running our nastiest reports -- nothing weird happened.
Helen's suggestion seems to have worked: old client libraries talking to FB 1.5 can cause trouble.
I'm not sure at this point if it was the IB6 or FB1 client libraries it didn't like.
Thanks,
