it really shouldn't be necessary and is a waste of network resources to do
it. There must be something else causing it and it's unlikley to be Firebird
or IBO related. It's a network issue I'd say. Changing the given fixed IP to
another one in a different range may be the cause without also looking in
the server's hosts file etc to make sure you don't have other things
mal-aligned.
