To clarify what Martijn says : the database size is limited by the
operating system and the size of your hard drives.

You can make Firebird have several data files, spread across different
drives, if you need to.

Any single file size is limited by the operating system. On Windows, the
maximum file size is 4 GB. So the limit on a Firebird Database file running
on Windows is 4 GB per file.

Yes, I know. It was confusing for me too, when I heard it the first time
... :-)
