Although the HEAD branch of Firebird might be stable enough for use in
development, it is not an Alpha version for FB 2.0, yet. So, your
guess is as good as mine as to when it will be officially released(my
guess first quarter 2005). AFAICT, the development of the major
features of FB 2.0 haven't really started, or just begun(i.e.: SS
being fully SMP/HT compliant and a new wire protocol). Some
development have started and what I hear some(if not most) of the
areas touched are those that need to be modified in order to implement
full SMP/HT compliancy. And, there also some new features being
implemented.
