I just used the PipeList program from SysInternals.com to see what was
going on with the named pipes when the error occurs. I see that the
interbas\server\gds_db pipe has only 1 connection the entire time, so
that apparently isn't the problem (with the 10 connection limit that
Helen mentioned earlier)

I'm at a loss as to where to go next, I don't have enough FB
experience to know in depth how it works :(
