Shot in the dark,
If you are using the firebird services api to do backup if your backup path does not exist on the server Firebird 1.0.3 seems to do this on win 2000
That is what we found in one of our apps

Subject : [firebird-support] Firebird Server Activity
Hi,
in some cases, our Firebird 1.5 server shows up to 90% CPU usage and we
would like to know, what exactly the server is doing and which client
machine caused the activity.
Is there any setting to get a log file, where I can find out? Or are
there tools to do that?
