Try this - it's for Delphi but the principles are the same:

For "ib_util.dll" (on Windows) read "libib_util.so" (on Linux). You can
find an ibase.pas (conversion of ibase.h) in Greg Deatz's FreeUDFLib Delphi
sources, downloadable from
http://www.cvalde.net/misc/packages_and_utilities.htm. Also get the
FreeUDFLibC C sources, to see the differences between Windows and Linux.
