Hi
Generally turning SystemRestore off seems to be a bad idea to me.
For a lot of my customers this feature did good work, for example after
installing unstable drivers.
The performance trade-off is not that big if you carefully separate software
and data on different partitions or drives.
(Sometimes it is even unrecognizable on the same drive.)
Essentially: Leave it enabled and name your databases .fdb.
Regards,
Steffen

Up to you...
If you turn SystemRestore off (as I usually do anyway, just makes lots of
things faster) especially on the drive holding the databases, then you don't
need to worry.
If you think that you or someone else might forget about that, then change
to another extension such as fdb. We now use fdb as well, just as a matter
of convention, and to avoid any possible future problems.
Regards
Colin

So I shouldn't use the .gdb extension at all??
