Thanks for the answer!
I gave the IB6 to my dog and installed firebird 1.5 and
IBManager 3,0 insted, but sorry to say , still the same problem.

Pick up the Firebird Quick Start Guide from www.ibphoenix.com (Main
Downloads). There's stuff in there that doesn't apply to IB 6 but most of
it is applicable.

IB6 will need services file entries in both client and server, as

gds_db tcp/3050

and tcp/ip hostname entries in hosts on both

nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn yourserver

(nnn..etc. is the IP address of the server, "yourserver" can be any name
you like)

Your connection string should be

yourserver:d:\path\to\your\db.gdb

Do you have a special reason to spend time on IB 6? It's very old and
very
buggy...
