We have a database of train and bus movement records. Only the last 24
hours are maintained, so every day thousands of records are added and
deleted. The database grows to about 7 or 8 Mb and stops at that, and we
have not done a restore on any of the sites in the last year or so.
Firebird just uses the available 'buffer' as required.
