Hi Marco,
There are some tricks that you can use to minimize this, and you can
always use a tunnel, such as ZeBeDee, to compress and encript your data.
Look in CFLP (http://www.comunidade-firebird.org) - you have a document
in portuguese teaching you how to setup zebedee to work with firebird.
I will talk about this subject in Fulda in a few days.
