I had lockups very similar to what you described, but I cannot relate
them to a precise number of threads. In some cases I also had access
violations. I haven't bothered to investigate further because a) it
was a test - I won't be needing that many concurrent threads in
production, and b) the bar raises further when using Firebird
embedded, which doesn't show any problems even with several hundred
threads.
