Thanks again Carlos:

I have fbembed.dll renamed to "fbclient.dll" and in
this MSVC project's "debug" directory, where the
client-server version of fbclient.dll was.

I tried moving ib_util.dll from the embedded's zip
expansion directory into the "debug" directory, and
then renamed it "fb_util.dll". Still no joy.

I appreciate your assistance.
