Since I am a Delphi guy, I must say that I have built a few sites with
Delphi (using Express Web Framework or WebSnap) with a Firebird back end.
We are also working on ASP sites using FB.



So many options.

PHP is one option.

Another would be J2EE and JDBC. You needn't get as fancy as EJB unless
you've
got something really major. JSPs may suffice very well.
