NO - quoted columns were mainly introduced to ALLOW case sensitive
names. This is certainly the main area where some level of
standardization IN THE SQL STANDARD would have been nice :)

I tend to change the odd name where necessary but I do have access to
the source code for the applications as well - that helps.
