If you suspect the fbclient.dll you could try to make a small demo. If you
can easily demonstrate the problem I'm sure it will be fixed promptly.
I remember the previous posts. Do you suspect that the restarted app
somehow gets connected to the broken connection? I don't doubt your
observations, but I feel there must be more to this ...

IBX and Fb/1.5 is reported to work pretty well, but you don't really have
any guarantee.
