What is the error that you see?
Is there an entry in Firebird's log file?
What's the file system of that disk?

If it's NTFS you shouldn't have any errors, unless there isn't enough
disk space. If it's FAT32, then you will get errors. I have a customer
with an 11GB single file database, on Windows 2000 server, and he's
not having any problems.
