sorry little late with this reply.
I was not in the office yesterday.
Actually it was on Redhat 7. We then moved it to Redhat 8.
On 8 the frequency of the problem came down substantially.
But no we have not moved it to Redhat 9

Actually, it's relevant to know whether your Firebird server is running on
Red Hat 9. Is it?
