Just had a look at the Dreamweaver/PHP pdf, and again is has
some useful pointers, but if you can afford Dreamweaver ... :)

Personally ADOdb has proven fine for me, but I have to admit
to working with a cut down copy, just the necessary bits and
a firebird15 driver - which I will publish - again when time
permits and I finish the 'extras' ;)
Since TikiWiki switched to ADOdb, I have been able to add
all of my Firebird stuff to that and have a very
comprehensive base to build on.
However ibWebAdmin is still the best choice for a PHP
administrator.
