In FB 1.5 you can check the new features in the release notes. As for
FB 2.0, I think Helen already answered, but here are some of the new
features that *probably* will be found in FB 2.0:

Explicit cursors in PSQL - *ready*
Incremental backup - *ready*
Smart optimizer - *in progress*
SQL Functions – *in progress*
New B-tree code
Security changes (metadata protection, PAM, etc.)
More internal functions

New optimized network protocol
