I've been using it for a while and it hasn't failed me yet. SLP is
fairly simple. If you want alternatives, you could also look at SSDP,
ZeroConf (a.k.a. Rendezvous if you're in an apple shop) or DNS-SD. But
I've found OpenSLP to be the easiest to set up, with the least
required cooperation from IT.
